North African & Levantine street food
Take the weight off your feet in the York Shambles market courtyard and satisfy those lunchtime cravings with fabulous street food from Los Moros, specialising in North African and Middle Eastern food.
Exclusive to the market and housed in one of the Shambles Food Court kiosks is sole trader Tarik Abdeladim. Originally from Algiers, Moorish cuisine played a big role in Tarik’s upbringing and is the culinary inspiration for the Los Moros name; Spanish for ‘Moorish people’. Tariq serves up seasonal North African and Levantine street food cuisine such as handmade Merguez sausages, tasty lamb tagines and delicious veggie couscous. Plus you get a complimentary cup of refreshing Moroccan mint tea with every main meal.
Los Moros is usually open seven days a week between 11.30am and 5pm – although Tarik occasionally takes a day off for well-earned rest and admin catch-up!
Shambles Market Opening Times: Monday-Sunday 9am-5pm (Individual stall & kiosk opening times may vary subject to trader discretion).
